Laboratory Study of Enhanced Oil Recovery with Used Palm Oil Surfactant Injection

نویسندگان

چکیده

Currently the waste generated from public consumption in Indonesia is very high. One such used palm oil households and food companies. Utilization of this research by recycling into surfactants which will be Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) process. The surfactant concentrations were 1.3%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.2% 2.5%. began with refining cooking banana peels for 24 hours. In order to make surfactants, mixed KOH distilled water. Additionaly, brine was made a salinity 15,000 ppm. With interfacial tension test, solution an optimum concentration obtained. core flooding test carried out using waterflooding followed at temperature 70 oC. From results obtained incremental recovery factor 8.57% total 47.43%.

An Experimental Study of Surfactant Alternating CO2 Injection for Enhanced Oil Recovery of Carbonated Reservoir

Core flooding experiments were conducted with the objective of evaluating near miscible surfactant alternating CO2 injection and the effect of surfactant concentrations on gas-oil and water displacements in porous media. The core samples were provided from a low permeability mixed wet oil reservoir at 156 °F and 1900 psia. In addition, very few studies of surfactant adsorption on car...

Sulfonation of phenols extracted from the pyrolysis oil of oil palm shells for enhanced oil recovery.

The cost of chemicals prohibits many technically feasible enhanced oil recovery methods to be applied in oil fields. It is shown that by-products from oil palm processing can be a source of valuable chemicals. Analysis of the pyrolysis oil from oil palm shells, a by-product of the palm oil industry, reveals a complex mixture of mainly phenolic compounds, carboxylic acids, and aldehydes. The phe...

Surfactant Stabilized Nanoemulsion: Characterization and Application in Enhanced Oil Recovery

Nanoemulsions are a class of emulsions with a droplet size in the range of 50–500 nm and have attracted a great deal of attention in recent years because it is unique characteristics. The physicochemical properties of nanoemulsion suggests that it can be successfully used to recover the residual oil which is trapped in the fine pore of reservoir rock by capillary forces after primary and second...

Fluorosurfactants in Enhanced Oil Recovery

Fluorosurfactants are effective in a variety of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques including (i) improving subterranean wetting, (ii) increasing foam stability, and (iii) modifying the surface properties of the reservoir formation. While fluorosurfactants have been used in gas and oil exploration for four decades, the increased demand for petroleum and the greater understanding of the benef...
